Account data provided by Google, Discord, or Twitch when you choose social sign-in, including your display name, email address, and avatar. We do not receive your provider password.

Outage reports, issue type, timestamps, and a privacy-preserving browser-session identifier used to limit abuse.

Approximate country or regional information used for outage mapping. We do not retain the originating IP address after the regional lookup.

Comments, alert preferences, watchlists, and standard usage information needed to operate and improve the service.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to provide account, alert, watchlist, comment, outage-detection, security, and support features; to aggregate community reports; and to improve reliability.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We use service providers for hosting, authentication, payments, email delivery, analytics, security, and approximate geolocation. Public comments display the chosen account identity, while outage reports are shown in aggregate.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar storage for authentication, preferences, security, rate limiting, and measurement. Disabling required cookies may prevent account features from working.

5. Retention and Security

We retain account data while an account is active and retain outage history for service analysis. Comments remain until removed by the author or through an applicable data request. We use HTTPS, access controls, and OAuth 2.0, but no storage or transmission method is completely risk free.

6. Your Choices and Rights

7. Children and Policy Changes

Downtester is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. We may update this policy and will revise the date shown on this page when material changes are made.
