MCP server
The Downtester MCP server gives agents (Claude, or any Model Context Protocol client) tool access to live status data. HTTP transport, authenticated with the same dtk_ keys as the public API, same 60 requests per minute limit. Business plan feature; create a key at account, API keys.
https://dd-dp.downtester.com/v1/mcp
Send your key on every request:
Authorization: Bearer dtk_live_...
get_service_status(slug)
Live canonical status for one service, with report counts.
search_services(query)
Find services by name, slug, or abbreviation.
list_active_incidents()
Incidents currently open across the network.
get_outage_history(slug, days)
Daily outage history for a service, up to 90 days.
One command:
claude mcp add --transport http downtester https://dd-dp.downtester.com/v1/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer dtk_live_..."
Any client that supports HTTP-transport MCP servers with custom headers can connect. Typical JSON configuration:
{
"mcpServers": {
"downtester": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://dd-dp.downtester.com/v1/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer dtk_live_..."
}
}
}
}The MCP server ships with the same release as the public API. If key creation still shows the provisioning notice on your account, the endpoint unlocks at the same moment.
